0.0MHz is the kind of lean, confidently made horror that doesn’t need to shout to get under your skin—it wins you over with mood, suggestion, and the creeping sense that something is listening back. The hook is deliciously simple: a student paranormal club treats a haunted house like a lab, chasing the idea that a certain “frequency” invites the dead, and the film has fun letting curiosity turn into dread one quiet beat at a time. Director Yoo Sun-dong keeps it stylish and minimalist, building an atmosphere that’s easy to sink into whether you’re a hardened genre fan or just want a spooky, accessible movie-night ride. If you prefer horror that’s more psychological than splatter-heavy, this one is a satisfying chill; if you need constant shocks, it may feel deliberately restrained.

0.0MHz is clearly trying to be a slick, youth-focused haunted-house experiment, mixing paranormal “research” with a ritual setup that promises a fresh hook about brainwaves and ghost frequencies. The problem is it rarely cashes that check: the story leans hard on familiar horror beats, and the scares often feel like echoes of better-known titles rather than something with its own identity. Some of the effects—especially the much-used hair-ghost imagery—come off more awkward than frightening, which undercuts the tension when it needs to land. If you’re happy with a straightforward, by-the-numbers Korean ghost story and can forgive rough visuals for a few creepy moments and a committed cast, you might have a decent time; if you want originality or genuinely strong scares, this probably isn’t it.
