The problem is it’s deliberately punishing: long takes, minimal music or relief, and a suffocating sense of dread that doesn’t “build to” catharsis so much as grind you down. If you need likable characters, a comforting message, or even the basic courtesy of emotional breathing space, this will feel miserable rather than meaningful—especially given the sexual coercion and clinical abortion content. That said, if you can handle intense subject matter, it’s exceptionally well-acted and controlled, with tension so precise it can make quieter scenes feel like a thriller.
