Gemini Man (2019)

Gemini Man is the rare big-studio action film that feels like a genuine experiment: Ang Lee uses cutting-edge high-frame-rate visuals and startling de-aging to turn a familiar assassin-on-the-run setup into something you can almost feel in your bones, especially when the chases and hand-to-hand fights hit their sleek, balletic stride. Will Smith gives the movie its pulse, playing weariness and swagger against a younger version of himself with an unexpectedly human undercurrent, while Mary Elizabeth Winstead brings grit and warmth that keeps the story grounded.
