What people think about Vadh
Vadh is the kind of crime thriller that feels special because it doesn’t chase cleverness for its own sake—it builds dread out of ordinary life, then lets one terrible decision ripple outward with unnerving plausibility. Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta are quietly magnificent, turning a middle-class marriage into the film’s beating heart as fear, guilt, and grim practicality collide in ways that feel painfully human rather than “movie” dramatic. The vibe is tense and grounded, with a moral ambiguity that keeps tightening the noose without resorting to flashy twists, and Manav Vij adds a bristling edge that keeps every scene alert. It’s not for viewers who want a breezy whodunit or light violence, but if you like thrillers that earn their suspense through credible behavior and powerhouse acting, this one lingers.
Vadh is aiming for a grounded, middle-class “ordinary man pushed too far” crime thriller, leaning on moral panic and desperation rather than flashy action. The problem is it often plays more like a slow, uneven drama than a tense cat-and-mouse thriller, with pacing that sags and a tone that doesn’t always know whether it wants to be gritty, satirical, or emotionally heavy. If you need tight plotting, escalating suspense, and a consistently sharp narrative drive, this may feel longer than it is and only intermittently gripping. That said, Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta bring enough lived-in authenticity to make the domestic stakes feel real, and if you’re patient with a deliberate, sometimes patchy build, there’s still a somber punch to it.
