Naruto the Movie: Legend of the Stone of Gelel feels like a compact, big-screen shot of everything that makes early Naruto so easy to love: restless energy, heartfelt loyalty, and action staged with a crisp, cinematic punch. What starts as a simple errand quickly opens into a pulpy fantasy-adventure with armored foes, looming machinery, and a mysterious knight who brings just enough intrigue to keep the fights from being mere noise. The animation is confidently polished, and the set pieces have that satisfying rhythm where strategy, emotion, and spectacle take turns in the spotlight—especially when Naruto barrels forward with the kind of determination that practically dares the world to keep up. It’s not the deepest chapter in the franchise and it plays best if you already enjoy the show’s vibe, but if you want a fun, well-paced Naruto side story that looks great and delivers the goods, this one earns the ticket.

Legend of the Stone of Gelel is clearly trying to give Naruto a bigger, more “cinematic” adventure with a new rival, a mysterious super-mineral, and lots of large-scale action outside the usual village politics. The problem is the story feels both predictable and oddly overstuffed, throwing in lore and sci‑fi-ish ideas that don’t quite gel with the Naruto world, while the new characters (especially Temujin and the villains) don’t get enough depth to make you care. If you’re hoping for meaningful character growth, tight canon-like storytelling, or clever plotting on Shikamaru’s level, this one may feel bland and forgettable.
