Fanboys (2009)

Fanboys is special because it treats geek devotion not as a punchline, but as a kind of messy, sincere love story—one powered by friendship, grief, and the reckless optimism of a road trip with a mission. Set in that pre-social-media moment when fandom felt like a secret handshake, it barrels forward with raunchy, high-energy comedy, a parade of delightful cameos, and just enough chaos to keep the adventure feeling like a late-night legend you’d swear really happened. Beneath the crude jokes and occasional criminal stupidity, there’s a surprisingly tender core: a group of friends trying to give one of their own a final, perfect memory.
