For Your Consideration is Christopher Guest at his most deliciously observant, turning the faintest whiff of awards buzz into a full-blown comedy of manners where egos bloom, insecurities flare, and Hollywood’s self-mythology gets gently skewered. The joy is watching an expert ensemble improvise their way through escalating absurdity, with Catherine O’Hara giving a performance so funny and oddly tender you can feel the longing beneath every too-bright smile. The vibe is dry, cringe-adjacent, and warmly mean in the way the best satire is—laughing at the industry while still recognizing the very human hunger to be seen and validated.
