It’s a cozy, Halloween-adjacent Disney fantasy where everyday life and enchanted destiny collide with a breezy sense of fun, a warm family heartbeat, and just enough shadowy menace to make the stakes feel real without ever getting too intense. The movie’s charm comes less from elaborate effects and more from its earnest belief in sisterhood—how two very different people can become stronger by choosing to stand together. If you’re looking for gritty world-building or high-end spectacle, this isn’t that kind of ride, but if you want an easy, feel-good spell of comedy, drama, and wish-fulfillment, Twitches is a genuinely satisfying watch.

Twitches wants to be a cozy, upbeat “long-lost twins discover destiny” fantasy with a Halloween-ish vibe and an easy moral about sisterhood and teamwork, and it mostly succeeds at being harmless family comfort food. The problem is it’s built from very familiar Disney TV-movie parts: broad characters, predictable turns, and a villain/prophecy setup that rarely surprises or deepens beyond the basics. The Mowry twins are likable and have solid chemistry, but the dramatic moments can feel a bit lightweight and the effects and dialogue lean into cheerful cheesiness rather than real wonder.
