American Dreamz (2006)

American Dreamz is special because it skewers two national obsessions—politics as performance and fame as salvation—with a bright, nasty little grin, and it does so with the brisk confidence of a satire that knows exactly where to aim. Paul Weitz keeps the tone buoyant even when the targets are sharp, letting the movie play like a pop-culture funhouse mirror where every reflection is a little too recognizable to be comfortable.
