Chris Evans anchors it with a surprisingly grounded performance that sells Steve Rogers’ decency as his true superpower, and Hayley Atwell brings spark and steel that elevates every scene she’s in. If you prefer your superhero movies grim or relentlessly snarky, this may feel wholesome by design—but if you’re on the fence, it’s one of Marvel’s most sincere, entertaining origin stories.
