Hoot (2006)

It turns a kid’s new-town loneliness into a scrappy, funny, big-hearted mission, powered by an appealing young cast—Logan Lerman’s earnest curiosity, Brie Larson’s bristly confidence, and Luke Wilson’s warmly bumbling cop who’s easy to root for.
