Simón Brand turns the confined setting into an advantage, staging a tense, ticking-clock chamber piece where the real action is paranoia: who’s telling the truth, who’s performing, and what you can risk when you don’t even know your own name. Jim Caviezel and Greg Kinnear anchor the uncertainty with grounded, human performances, while the movie’s structure keeps rearranging what you think you understand without resorting to cheap gimmicks. Unknown wants to be a tight, claustrophobic mystery where amnesia turns everyone into a suspect and the tension comes from figuring out who’s predator and who’s prey.
