Jack Black’s Po is an instantly lovable underdog, radiating goofy charm and surprising sincerity, while Dustin Hoffman and Angelina Jolie lend the story a steady emotional spine and just the right edge. The vibe is buoyant and adventurous, packed with big laughs and kinetic set pieces, but it never forgets the simple pleasure of watching someone discover they might be more than their worst habits.
