Taxidermia (2006)

Taxidermia is the kind of film that reminds you cinema can still be dangerous, funny, and weirdly beautiful all at once—a grotesque fairy tale about appetite, inheritance, and the body as both prison and canvas. Taxidermia is trying to be a grotesque, darkly funny family saga—three generations used as a warped portrait of obsession, appetite, and bodily decay, shot with real visual ambition. The problem is that it doesn’t just flirt with disgusting imagery; it wallows in it, and the shock factor often becomes the main event, which can make the “meaning” feel secondary if you’re not already on its wavelength. If you’re sensitive to graphic body horror, sexual grotesquerie, or films that deliberately aim to nauseate as a form of art, this will likely feel like endurance rather than entertainment.
