Munich is Spielberg firing on all cylinders: a sleek, nerve-tight thriller that refuses the comfort of simple villains or easy catharsis, and instead turns a historical tragedy into a haunting study of what vengeance costs the people asked to carry it out. The filmmaking is controlled and propulsive—each sequence feels engineered for maximum tension—yet it’s the human texture that lingers, with Eric Bana anchoring the story in quiet, accumulating strain and a terrific supporting cast adding grit and doubt to every decision. It has the momentum of an action film, but the aftertaste of a moral reckoning, provoking you to argue with it even as you can’t look away.
