Emilio Maillé shoots it with a gritty immediacy, but what really makes it linger is Flora Martínez, who turns Rosario into more than a femme fatale—she’s wounded, defiant, and terrifyingly alive, the sort of character you can’t quite approve of and can’t stop watching. The story unfolds through Antonio’s eyes in a moody, memory-like flow, giving the whole movie the ache of a confession rather than the swagger of a typical crime thriller. It’s not for everyone—there’s sexuality, brutality, and a hard-edged moral landscape—but if you want a film that’s passionate, dangerous, and emotionally sharp, this one earns your attention.

Rosario Tijeras is clearly aiming for a gritty, tragic character study of a woman shaped by abuse and Medellín’s sicario underworld, filtered through the longing, privileged gaze of Antonio. The problem is that the film often confuses “dark and intense” with “dramatic,” leaning on flashback mood, violence, and melodrama without building a story that feels like it’s going anywhere. If you need tight plotting, emotional nuance, or a perspective that doesn’t romanticize misery, this may feel hollow and frustrating rather than powerful. Still, Flora Martínez brings real presence, and if you’re drawn to bleak, style-forward crime romances that play more like a fatalistic vibe piece than a narrative, you might get something out of it.
