Three Way (2004)

Three Way is the kind of lean, nasty little crime thriller that sneaks up on you: a grubby scheme, a dangerous secret, and one bad decision that keeps multiplying like a virus. It’s propelled by a pulpy, late-night vibe—equal parts tension and temptation—while Dominic Purcell and Gina Gershon bring enough attitude and lived-in grit to make the con feel uncomfortably plausible. The plotting can wobble, but that’s also part of its guilty-pleasure charm, because the movie keeps tightening the screws and daring you to see how far its characters will go. If you like your noir a bit sleazier, your thrills a bit trashier, and your morality nicely compromised, this one delivers.

The problem is the execution: the plotting often feels needlessly convoluted yet oddly lazy, with continuity hiccups and turns you can see coming long before the characters do. Performances don’t consistently sell the tension, and the lead in particular struggles to carry the weight of the story, which makes stretches feel flat rather than suspenseful. If you’re craving a sharp, tightly wound thriller, this may test your patience, but if you can tolerate a messy B-movie vibe for a few grimy moments and a decent premise, you might get some mild value out of it.
