Robin Williams gives a beautifully restrained dramatic performance as a man who’s spent his career polishing other people’s legacies, only to find the job turning into a moral trapdoor beneath his feet. Omar Naim wraps the story in a cool, shadowy near-future vibe—part mystery, part thriller, always humming with ethical dread—so even the quieter scenes feel charged with implication. It’s not an action-heavy ride and it lingers in ambiguity, but if you like sci-fi that asks uncomfortable questions and trusts you to sit with them, this one sticks.

In practice, it often feels like a great premise searching for a sharper story, with pacing that drifts and plot turns that lean on familiar thriller beats instead of digging into the truly unsettling implications. Robin Williams brings a somber, watchable seriousness and the world has a slick, slightly eerie look, but the film can come off more self-important than satisfying. If you want a tight, twisty sci-fi mystery with real momentum, you may get impatient; if you’re okay with a slower, mood-driven concept piece that’s more about guilt and ethics than thrills, it’s worth a cautious try.
