The screenplay moves like a well-planned operation—tense, brisk, and full of reversals—while Amitabh Bachchan brings granite authority to the mission and Ajay Devgn injects a dangerous, unpredictable edge that makes every encounter crackle. It has that gritty, street-level vibe where the heat feels real and the stakes keep escalating, yet it’s also pure crowd-pleasing entertainment, built to be watched with your pulse up. If you prefer action films that are airy and uncomplicated, this one’s more hard-edged and intense—but if you want a well-written, powerfully performed ride, Khakee delivers.

Khakee is aiming for a big, glossy cops-vs-criminals road-thriller with high stakes, star power, and plenty of action along the way. When it’s firing on all cylinders, the cat-and-mouse tension and a couple of strong character moments make it easy to see why it clicked with many viewers. The problem is it often can’t resist stretching itself out, and the second half can feel repetitive, increasingly melodramatic, and a bit too comfortable leaning on familiar plot beats. If you’re allergic to long runtimes, predictable turns, or “mass” Bollywood-style escalation, this may test your patience; if you enjoy ensemble action dramas and don’t mind some formula, it’s still a serviceable ride.
