Unleashed is clearly trying to mash up a gritty Jet Li beatdown movie with a bruised, sentimental “man learns to be human” drama, and you can feel the heart behind that idea. The problem is the script often treats its central premise like a shortcut, jumping from brutal exploitation to warm healing moments in ways that can feel emotionally awkward and, frankly, a bit implausible. If you want tight crime plotting or nuanced character work, this may leave you rolling your eyes between the fights.
