Fever Pitch (2005)

Fever Pitch is that rare romantic comedy that feels like it’s actually about two real people trying to make love fit into a life that already has a pulse—work deadlines, old habits, and yes, a sports obsession that’s both ridiculous and weirdly touching. Drew Barrymore brings warmth and grounded confidence, while Jimmy Fallon turns fandom into a kind of earnest, boyish poetry, and their chemistry makes the push-and-pull feel sweet instead of sitcom-cynical. The vibe is breezy and crowd-pleasing, with plenty of laughs, but it also sneaks in a surprisingly sincere question: what do you do when the thing you love collides with the person you love?
