Ali G Indahouse is the kind of comedy that kicks the door in with sheer nerve: a loud, shameless satire that somehow turns idiocy into a surprisingly sharp mirror of politics, media, and the public’s appetite for “authenticity.” Sacha Baron Cohen commits so completely to Ali’s clueless swagger that the movie feels like a prank played on polite society, powered by frantic momentum, cheeky one-liners, and a willingness to go tasteless just to see what happens. Mark Mylod keeps it zipping along like a tabloid fever dream—bright, silly, and oddly buoyant—even as it skewers the stuffy corridors of power with playground energy. It’s definitely not for anyone allergic to crude, R-rated humor and sexual gags, but if you can meet it on its own ridiculous wavelength, it’s a brash, frequently hilarious time capsule of early-2000s comedy that still knows exactly where to poke.

Ali G Indahouse is trying to stretch Sacha Baron Cohen’s Ali G character into a full political farce, taking the “idiot accidentally tells the truth” idea and aiming it at Parliament and media hype. The problem is the film mostly swaps the character’s sharper satirical edge for loud, juvenile sex-and-drugs gags, and the thin story feels like it’s just shuffling you from one crude bit to the next with plenty of dead air between real laughs. If you loved the Ali G sketches and can happily sit through relentless innuendo, profanity, and “did they really just do that?” humor, you’ll find some dumb fun and a few inspired moments of absurdity. If you’re hoping for clever, sustained satire or a comedy that earns its shock rather than leaning on it, this will likely feel witless and overlong.
