Extreme Ops (2002)

Christian Duguay keeps the camera moving and the energy high, letting the film’s knowingly absurd, slightly campy spirit become part of its charm rather than something to apologize for. Devon Sawa and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras bring an easy, game-for-anything vibe, while Rufus Sewell adds a welcome edge that helps the danger feel sharper even when the plot goes big and loud. If you’re looking for grounded realism, this isn’t your mountain—but if you want a fun, ridiculous rush that remembers movies can be pure motion and mayhem, it’s an easy ticket.

Extreme Ops wants to be a slick early-2000s adrenaline rush: gorgeous Alpine locations, extreme-sports stunts, and a “filmmakers stumble into terrorists” setup that could’ve been a fun B-movie romp. The problem is the script and dialogue are so clunky and the plot so implausible that it’s hard to stay invested, and the editing often chops up the action instead of letting it land. If you need coherent tension and characters you can root for, this will likely feel loud, silly, and oddly flat.
