When it works, it’s anchored by strong performances and a moody suburban atmosphere that makes the unease feel uncomfortably real. But be warned: the pacing is deliberately slow and the storytelling can feel a bit engineered, with exposition and thematic points landing like they’re being underlined for you rather than discovered naturally. If you want a tight, twisty whodunit or subtle character work, this may test your patience; if you’re up for a talky, relationship-heavy drama that happens to include a mystery, it’s much more likely to click.
