Dhadkan is clearly aiming for old-school Bollywood melodrama: a love triangle built on duty versus desire, big emotions, and a redemption arc that wants you to believe people can change. The problem is it often pushes feelings louder than it earns them, and the “grey” character’s swings between lover, villain, and repentant man can feel more like the script changing lanes than a fully justified transformation. If you’re allergic to long, soap-operatic plotting, moral lectures, and heightened romance where characters make extreme choices, this will likely test your patience. Still, Akshay Kumar brings a steady decency to Ram that anchors the chaos, and if you enjoy sweeping, sentimental dramas with a traditional heart, it can land despite the rough edges.
