Bad Boys II (2003)

20032h 26mRActionCrimeComedy

Detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey of the Miami Narcotics Task Force are tasked with stopping the flow of the drug Ecstasy into Miami. They track the drugs to the whacked-out Cuban drug lord Johnny Tapia, who is also involved in a bloody war with Russian and Haitian mobsters. If that isn't bad enough, there's tension between the two detectives when Marcus discovers that playboy Mike is secretly romancing Marcus’ sister, Syd.

Explained

What people think about Bad Boys II

Bad Boys II is pure, unapologetic summer-movie adrenaline: a loud, glossy Miami fever dream where Michael Bay turns every chase, explosion, and shootout into a kind of pop-art spectacle. The real hook, though, is the crackling chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence—two stars so comfortable sparring that even the mayhem feels like it’s running on their rhythm, equal parts swagger and panic. It’s slick, relentless, and often hilariously over-the-top, the kind of action-comedy that dares you not to grin at its sheer nerve. Fair warning: it’s long, extremely violent, and proudly tasteless in places, but if you’re in the mood for maximum energy and zero restraint, it delivers like few studio blockbusters ever have.
