Todd Solondz delivers that point with zero cushioning: the humiliation is constant, the tone is abrasive, and the subject matter (including sexual threats and predatory implications) can feel legitimately upsetting rather than merely “edgy.” If you need warmth, likable characters, or any kind of comforting payoff, this will likely just feel like two hours of secondhand pain with an intentionally unresolved aftertaste.
