High Risk is trying to mash up a Die Hard-style hostage thriller with broad, slapstick Hong Kong comedy and give Jet Li a vehicle that’s both action-heavy and self-parodying. When it works, you get a few genuinely fun stunt-driven set pieces and the novelty of watching the film poke at martial-arts movie fakery through Jacky Cheung’s cowardly star persona.
