Leprechaun 3 (1995)

Leprechaun 3 is the rare sequel that understands its own ridiculousness and turns it into a feature: a shamelessly campy, neon-lit Las Vegas carnival where greed, bad luck, and wish-fulfillment collide with splattery punchlines. Brian Trenchard-Smith keeps the pace brisk and the vibe delightfully trashy, letting the casino setting do half the storytelling while Warwick Davis steals the other half with a performance that’s equal parts impish, menacing, and weirdly charismatic. It’s not “scary” in a prestige-horror way so much as gleefully nasty and inventive, the kind of movie that keeps topping itself with outrageous set pieces and B-movie bravado. Fair warning: the R-rated gore and sexual content are very much part of the package, but if you’re in the mood for a loud, low-budget horror-comedy that knows exactly what it is, this one hits like a jackpot.

Leprechaun 3 is clearly trying to be a sleazy, Vegas-set carnival ride: dumb wishes, nastier punchlines, and Warwick Davis chewing scenery as the pint-sized menace. The problem is it often looks and feels like a rushed direct-to-video sequel, with thin characters, clunky pacing, and set pieces that lean more on “did you see that?” gore and nudity than on actual comic timing or suspense. If you’re hoping for clever horror-comedy or even a coherent story with momentum, this will likely test your patience. But if you enjoy cheap, mean-spirited B-movie chaos and can laugh at how shamelessly it pushes bad-taste spectacle, it delivers exactly that kind of midnight-movie trashiness.
