Casper (1995)

The effects still have that inviting ’90s charm, giving Casper and his rowdy ghost relatives a surprising expressiveness that makes the comedy land and the quieter moments sneak up on you. If you’re allergic to sentiment or prefer your ghost stories sharp-edged, this may feel soft around the edges, but if you want a cozy, funny, slightly wistful Halloween-ready crowd-pleaser, it’s easy to fall for.
