Silent Fall is clearly aiming for a moody, psychological whodunit where a traumatized child holds the key and a determined therapist peels back layers of a “perfect” family. The problem is the mystery often feels pre-packaged: the plotting is contrived, the turns are easy to see coming, and the suspense rarely earns its big moments. More importantly, its portrayal of autism can come off as a convenient storytelling device rather than a thoughtful depiction, which may be a dealbreaker if you’re sensitive to that.
