The problem is the central love story often feels like it’s hitting familiar beats on autopilot, and the film leans on nudity in a way that can come off more distracting than meaningful. Performances and characterizations can feel thin or even a bit caricatured, which doesn’t help when the pacing rushes through emotional turns that should land harder. Most of all, the English-language delivery from Spanish-speaking actors is a dealbreaker for many—if accents and stilted dialogue pull you out of a story, this one may test your patience, even if you’re interested in the subject matter.
