The new KITT concept adds a surprisingly human edge, giving the movie a wistful, late-night cable vibe—part action chase, part melancholy companionship—without getting bogged down in mythology. If you’re expecting the glossy swagger of the ’80s series, this grittier, lower-budget reimagining may surprise you, but if you want a straightforward, post-apocalyptic ride with heart and engines, it’s an easy ticket to punch.

Knight Rider 2010 is clearly trying to reboot the ’80s fun into a grim, post-apocalyptic chase thriller with a new KITT and bigger stakes, and you can feel the ambition in the setup. The problem is it often plays like a low-budget TV pilot stretched into a movie: the world-building is thin, the pacing lurches between exposition and action, and the emotional beats don’t always land because the characters are more “types” than people. If you’re coming for the witty car-and-driver banter and sleek gadget fantasy, this version is darker, rougher, and far less charming, so nostalgia alone won’t save it. That said, if you enjoy scrappy ’90s sci-fi TV movies with a desert-dystopia vibe and can forgive some clunky execution, there’s enough momentum and concept to keep you mildly entertained.
