Explained

What people think about Hexed

Hexed is the kind of gloriously off-kilter early-’90s curio that plays like a romantic comedy after it’s been lightly poisoned—bright, brisk, and happily unhinged. Alan Spencer keeps the tone mischievous and fast, letting Arye Gross’s jittery, sweetly hapless clerk spiral through a web of lies while Claudia Christian turns supermodel Hexina into a charismatic live wire you can’t look away from. The movie’s real pleasure is how it treats murder like a punchline without losing that thriller snap, stacking misunderstandings and close calls into a steady run of laughs. It is admittedly uneven and proudly R-rated in its sexuality and language, but if you enjoy underrated, oddball “date-night gone wrong” comedies with a dark streak, this one’s a surprisingly fun find.
