Enemy Gold (1994)

Enemy Gold is pure Christian Drew Sidaris escapism: a sun-drenched, bullet-spitting action-thriller that knows exactly what it is and barrels forward with a grin. It mixes a pulpy Civil War treasure legend with ’90s federal-agent swagger, corrupt bosses, double-crosses, and a drug lord who won’t stop coming, all staged with breezy momentum and a playful, slightly trashy confidence. Bruce Penhall and Mark Barriere make a likable, wisecracking team, and the film’s vibe is less “gritty realism” than “late-night cable adventure” where explosions, shootouts, and glossy set pieces are the point. It’s not for viewers who want subtlety or who’d rather avoid frequent nudity, but if you’re on the fence and craving a fast, shamelessly entertaining B-movie ride, this one hits the spot.
