It plays like a confident mock documentary with the timing of a great sketch show, packed with quotable bits and a winkingly catchy musical vibe that understands the genre well enough to tease it. Chris Rock and company keep the energy high and the satire pointed without turning mean, letting you laugh at the absurdity while recognizing why it worked. If you enjoy comedy that’s a little raunchy and very of-its-era, CB4 is a cult gem that earns its status by being smarter—and sillier—than it has any right to be.
