Jonathan Silverman makes Barry instantly likable—funny, frazzled, and just human enough that the looping never feels like a gimmick—while Helen Slater brings spark and steadiness that turns the romance into more than a subplot. Director Jack Sholder keeps the pace brisk and the vibe lightly paranoid, mixing corporate sci-fi, ticking-clock danger, and repeated near-misses with enough humor to make the tension go down easy. It’s a made-for-TV movie with TV-era edges, so if you want big-budget spectacle you won’t find it here, but if you like smart premises, good chemistry, and a thriller that moves, 12:01 is a satisfying little time-bender.
