Sleepwalkers is clearly trying to be a pulpy Stephen King-style creature feature with small-town vibes, taboo menace, and a few big, gooey set pieces. The problem is it often plays less like tense horror and more like a clunky soap opera with flimsy logic, flat dialogue, and pacing that drifts until it lurches into violence. The mother-son dynamic is meant to be unsettling, and it is, but it can also feel cheap and unpleasant rather than scary, especially if you’re sensitive to incest-adjacent material and predation themes.
