Fist of Fury 1991 II (1992)
After the total defeat of his love rival, Ching must now deal with the love rival's brother, Wan To, who seeks revenge against him. When Ching is ambushed by Wan To and his gang in the streets and is at risk, he is rescued and treated by an apprentice of his, Beef Skin, and his feisty sister, Beef Stew. It turns out those two are even harder to handle than Wan To.
What people think about Fist of Fury 1991 II
Fist of Fury 1992 is special because it treats martial-arts cinema like a playground, where every punchline lands with the same precision as a well-timed kick, and Stephen Chow’s chaotic charm keeps the energy bouncing from scene to scene. The vibe is gleefully anarchic—part street-brawl bravado, part full-tilt slapstick—yet it’s anchored by Josephine Siao, who brings a sharp, witty presence that elevates the comedy beyond mere noise. It never stops moving, stacking physical gags and escalating misunderstandings into a kind of joyous, breathless momentum that makes the whole thing feel like a live-wire performance. If you prefer your action-comedy subtle or restrained, this may be too loud and silly, but if you want a hilarious, crowd-pleasing treat, it’s hard to beat.
Fist of Fury 1992 is clearly trying to be a loose, gag-driven action-comedy where the revenge plot is mostly an excuse to bounce between fights, slapstick, and chaotic side characters. If you want a coherent story, escalating stakes, or martial-arts set pieces that feel sharp and memorable, this can come off as dumber, cheesier, and more scattershot than its predecessor. The humor is the main selling point, but it leans hard into silliness, so if broad comedy and deliberate stupidity irritate you, you’ll be checking your watch. Still, if you’re in the mood for lightweight, low-pressure fun with occasional scraps and a “don’t think, just enjoy” vibe, it can hit the spot.
