Predator 2 (1990)

Stephen Hopkins keeps the pace mean and muscular, delivering action that’s loud, inventive, and constantly on the move, while quietly expanding the Predator mythology in ways that reward fans without turning the movie into homework. Danny Glover anchors the mayhem with a gritty, determined performance that gives the carnage a human pulse, and the film’s rough-edged, late-’80s/early-’90s vibe makes it a gloriously sweaty time capsule. It may not have the elegant simplicity of the original, but if you want an underrated sequel that’s big, brash, and genuinely fun, this one earns its stripes.
