Explained

What people think about Return of the Evil Fox

Return of the Evil Fox is the kind of Hong Kong genre cocktail they don’t make enough anymore: a gleefully unhinged mix of action, horror, fantasy, and comedy that somehow clicks because it commits to its own wild imagination. The premise alone—an ancient evil spirit colliding with modern 1991 city life—gives the film a playful momentum, and it keeps finding new ways to spin that setup into punchy set pieces and spirited gags. The tone is knowingly tongue-in-cheek, but it’s not lazy about it; the action has real snap, and the cast plays the chaos with respectable conviction that makes the supernatural antics land. If you need your horror dead serious, this may not be your flavor, but if you’re on the fence and want a fun, high-energy ride with personality, it’s an easy yes.
