The problem is the story quickly turns into a tangled mess of half-explained twists and thin character work, so the shock value ends up doing most of the heavy lifting. If you’re not specifically in the mood for gratuitous gore and rough-edged exploitation vibes, the offensive material (including antisemitic remarks) and uneven animation outside the action beats can make this feel more ugly than intense.
