Die Hard (1988)

Die Hard is aiming to be a lean, high-stakes “one man vs. an entire building” thriller with a smart mouth, clear geography, and escalating tension—and on that front, it largely delivers. But if you’re not into 80s action sensibilities, the violence is frequent and punchy, the plotting can feel a bit conveniently messy, and there are side characters and detours that may strike you as filler rather than fuel.
