The Dead Pool (1988)

The Dead Pool is clearly trying to give Dirty Harry a flashy, late-’80s send-off by mixing celebrity satire with a serial-killer “game” hook and a few big, noisy set pieces. The problem is it often feels like a smaller, more formula-driven episode stretched to feature length, with direction that’s serviceable rather than sharp and a plot that leans on gimmicks instead of tension.
