The problem is the investigation is built around lots of interviews and flashbacks, which can make the mystery feel more like a carefully assembled case file than a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller, and the pacing in the first half can drag. If you’re coming for a tight crime plot with escalating suspense and big twists, you may find it a bit talky and mechanical. But if you’re patient with a stagey, character-driven approach, the performances (especially Adolph Caesar) and the uncomfortable themes give it real weight even when the storytelling isn’t sleek.
