The Beastmaster (1982)

The Beastmaster wants to be a pulpy, sword-and-sorcery crowd-pleaser with a clear revenge quest and a fun hook—its hero can “talk” to animals, and the ferrets and panther honestly do a lot of heavy lifting in the charm department. But be warned: it’s long, pretty formulaic, and the acting and dubbing can feel stiff enough to yank you out of scenes that should be exciting, with sets and direction that sometimes look more bargain-bin than epic.
