The Legacy (1978)

The Legacy is the kind of late-’70s horror that wins you over with mood and mystery rather than cheap jolts, turning an elegant English estate into a velvet-lined trap you can’t stop exploring. It’s never remotely dull because it keeps feeding you intriguing, occult-tinged questions, and the film’s creepiness comes as much from its refined atmosphere as from what might be hiding just out of sight.
