The Gauntlet (1977)

What makes it special isn’t just the action—though it’s fast, furious, and staged with bruising, old-school clarity—but the prickly chemistry between Eastwood’s burned-out cop and Sondra Locke’s sharp, belligerent witness, whose bickering gradually reveals a pulpy streak of romanticism.
