Explained

What people think about Seduction

Seduction (1973) is the kind of adult drama they rarely make anymore: intimate, sunlit, and quietly devastating, where every glance feels like a choice you can’t take back. Fernando Di Leo trades his crime-film pulse for a slow-burn romantic tension, letting Maurice Ronet, Lisa Gastoni, and Jenny Tamburi carry the story with performances that are magnetic precisely because they never beg for your sympathy. The Sicilian setting is gorgeous but never postcard-pretty; it’s a warm, enclosed world that makes desire feel inevitable and consequences feel close, all underscored by a score that seems to hum with temptation. It’s not for everyone—its taboo dynamics and frank sensuality can be unsettling—but if you’re drawn to psychologically sharp, beautifully shot melodramas that stare straight at human weakness, this one lingers.
