Taste the Blood of Dracula is clearly aiming for a nastier, more morally pointed Hammer entry, using bored upper-class vice and family corruption as the engine that brings Dracula back. The problem is it often feels like the plot is doing the work while Dracula himself waits on the sidelines, and the script can come off routine and oddly muddled despite the juicy setup. If you’re here for Christopher Lee to dominate the movie or for tight, escalating suspense, you may find it laboured and a bit thin.
